Complete separation of colorants from polymeric materials for cost-effective recycling of waste textiles

Currently, only 1% of waste textiles, mainly whites, are recycled because dyes on fibers caused various problems. Unseparated colors might sublime during the fiber regeneration process and pollute working environment. More seriously, final color quality regenerated is uncontrollable. Technologies for complete removal from textiles either by dye-destruction or extraction have major challenges impeding their industrialization. Dye-destruction damages polymers, changes dyeability pollutes Since differences in solubility parameters between polymers large, dye extractions focuses finding solvents with high solubility, dye-extraction fails to remove all textiles. Finding almost impossible lower chemical potential solutions than that where accessible, tightly arranged. Lessening density substantially disrupts physical interactions fibers, thus raises parts higher solutions, although reducing increase solvents. Here we demonstrate minimization temperatures completely removes disperse dyes, acid direct polyethylene terephthalate, nylon cotton respectively. The structures average molecular weight did not change after removal.
